Ultra Low Power Wireless IEEE 802.11 Sensor Family.

Robust, Highly Secure, Proven Mesh Technology in Battery Powered Sensors

Lexington, KY (February 15th 2008) Point Six Wireless (www.pointsix.com) introduces a new ultra low power 802.11 Sensor Family. The product line up consists of Temperature, Humidity, Thermistor, RTD, Pulse Counter, and Analog Input Modules with integrated IEEE 802.11 radios supporting WEP 128 and WPA2 security. Recently developed silicon chip technology permits ultra low power operation enabling years of operation on a single AA battery. The sensors are designed to work with Industry Standard 802.11 Access Points for easy installation. This capability eliminates the need for repeaters, controllers and coordinators typically needed for most wireless deployments. The 802.11 “Integration Strategy” reduces installation and on-going maintenance costs associated with the usual “Overlay Strategy” of installing yet another wireless network where one already exists. Designed to leverage the over 217,000 Commercial and Industrial global HOTSPOTS, these products enable IT Managers to derive added value from their WiFi Network build out.

Point Six Wireless, LLC, founded in 1996, provides Fortune 500 OEMs both IR and RF end-to-end solutions spanning Sensor Integration, Packaging, Connectivity and Field Support.  Typical deployments include traffic light automation, food safety, energy management, traffic counting, healthcare and trucking.
